The Arya Samaj Marriage Validation Act 1937 recognizes a Vedic ceremony as a complete and legal marriage. There is no statutory waiting period for an Arya Samaj wedding — unlike the 30-day notice required under the Special Marriage Act 1954. The Hindu Marriage Act 1955 also does not require a waiting period; only the SDM registration after the ceremony takes a few days, which can run in parallel.
